Here is the appraoch we take: In live network, wireless technology would normally involve basestations (eNBs) and mobile phones, as shown in the system diagram below. The two parts (at top left and bottom right) are talking to each other over the air (OTA) using RF signals.
We are developing smart communication signals analysis system (SCSAS), which are illustrated by four bubbles. It seats between the two parties and listen to both of them. Usually it records a few basestations' downlink (DL) signals and a few user equipment (UEs) uplink (UL) signals. It is immediately making the signal visible. Post signal processing can reveal full details of the signal to microsecond-Hz level.
This is a 3GPP spec based product and services to meet the demands in the global telecom markets. For more sophsticated issues, our server can take the raw IQ data collected OTA, and provide the detailed report and interactive view of good and bad part of the signals and pinpoint who did it and at which microsecond.
